I love being on stage! If you remember me from elementary, junior high, or high school....you know that about me! :) I was in numerous plays throughout school, college included. I've been itching to get back into it, and I finally found the time! I'm in the El Reno Community Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol". My part is small (only about 10 lines). I play Belle, Scrooge's lost love. I'm having a blast! Performaces are December 8th through 11th at 7:30pm at the Redland's Community College Theater.

So I've passed the twenties. I'm no longer in that age group. :( No matter how many pepole tell me the thirties are the best time in their lives, you get wiser with age, you feel more comfortable in your own skin, blah blah....I loved being in my twenties!!! I got married to the most amazing man in my twenties, I became a Mommy to two beautiful little girls in my twenties, we bought our first house in my twenties, I found my church home in my twenties....I could go on and on and on! The twenties were awesome!!! I do realize now that I AM thirty, that it isn't as bad as I was expecting. It just really hurts to say that I am in fact a thirty year old. Blah! I'll get over it! :) And I know that many more awesome and amazing things are in store for me in my thirties. I'm looking forward to exploring this next step in my life!!

My wonderful husband and awesome sisters threw me a fabulous birthday party!!! We went to Put a Cork In It Winery in Bricktown. We had yummy hors d'oeuvres, cake, and had a wine tasting. It was so much fun!!! It was the best 30th birthday party! I'm so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life!! Thanks for an awesome party!! MWAH!!

Fall Break (and Pinterest....I'm so addicted) inspired me to find some fun Fall things for the girls to do. They painted pumpkins, made ghosts with their hand prints, and some pumpkins. :)

TLC Field Trip!!

I got to go with Harper's class on a field trip to Chester's Party Barn and Pumpkin Patch. It was SO windy, and it took us quite a while to clean the caked-on dirt off of us once we got home....but we still had a good time. I enjoyed getting the one-on-one time with Baby H!!!!

We also had a family birthday party! Emercyn wanted a "rainbow and unicorn" theme! She asked if I would make her a rainbow cake. I'm NOT a cake decorator, but it meant so much to her to have me make it.....so I did! Emercyn's cousins and grandmas were all there. Such a wonderful party!!!

On Emercyn's actual birthday, Jason and I covered her bedroom floor with balloons. We put streamers on the outside of her door, and we brought her breakfast in bed! So fitting for a princess!!!!

Emercyn asked to have a "tea party/fashion show" for her 5th birthday! I found the most awesome company out of Edmond (www.cupcakesandtea.com) that does all-inclusive tea parties. They did it all....from sending the invitations, to the table and decorations, to the dress up clothes and makeup, to the individual sandwiches and cake, to the party favors. I was amazed!!! We invited her 8 closest friends, and celebrated in the most fabulous way!!!!!

School Days!!!!

In August, the girls both started school! Emercyn started all day, every day Pre-K at Maple Schools. She absolutely LOVES it!! Her teacher, Mrs. Shroder, is awesome! Couldn't ask for a better teacher for her first year of school!!

Harper started 2 days a week of Mother's Day Out at the same church Emercyn attended at this age. She has so much fun! We love her teachers too!! :)

AND.....this gives ME 5 hours, 2 days a week to myself. I can grocery shop alone! I can have lunch dates with Jason! I can meet friends for coffee! I can do laundry in peace! :)

One big, long, enormous, gigantic, full-of-info, action-packed, emotional, way over due update!

The title says it all. It's been 6 months. 6 MONTHS since my last update. Yikes! I'm WAY overdue! I apparently suck at this blogging thing. And honestly, I thought I'd be pretty good at it, considering I do have a degree in speech and a minor in English! ;) But alas, I let myself down. Boo!

I have a good excuse this time. 2011 has been pretty crappy. It's been the worst year I've ever had. In just 9 short months, we lost 5 people we loved. I had bigger things on my mind than this blog. So please forgive me! I won't even dare to say that I'll update "once a month" like I have promised in the past. Apparently, I can't stick to that. But with Emercyn starting pre-k next week, I do want to TRY to update every couple of months. So hopefully I CAN stick to that!

So here's a month-by-month play-by-play of what you've missed these last 6 months.

March: Emercyn was in her last few months at TLC preschool, and Harper and I were enjoying our days together at home. Emercyn also started t-ball! Jason decided to be the coach! We named the team the Shockers, and our colors were bright blue, black, and silver. It was an exciting season, having all 4 & 5 year olds on the team, but a very fun one!!

April: Baby H turned TWO!!! We celebrated with all her closest friends from church at her favorite play place, ABC's Stay 'N Play in Yukon. We did a Sesame Street theme. She LOVES Elmo! :)

April was also a very sad month for us. On April 8th, we found out that Jason's Dad (Stan Looper) had a very aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. And on April 19th, we found out that my Dad's (David Mogg) doctors at MD Anderson decided it was time to stop treatment.

Stan's cancer was very advanced and very aggressive, and he very quickly got worse. On April 30th, just 3 weeks later, he passed away. Stan was such an amazing man. He was a wonderful role model for my husband, showing him what a good husband and father looked like. He was the best father-in-law I could have asked for, and was such a loving Grandad to our girls. Not a day goes by that he isn't missed or loved.

Jason's sister, who lives in Central Asia, came home with her husband and 3 kids to see her Dad in his last few weeks. Because she lives so far away, most of our communication with them is through email and Skype. So it was very nice to see them in person for an extended period of time. They were here about a month before having to return home. The girls LOVED playing with their cousins Lydia (who is Harper's age), and twins Hudson and Josiah (turned a year in June)!!!

May: Emercyn's Spring dance recital was darling! She performed in two dances, a ballet and tap routine. This month also marked the last day of preschool for Miss E. This meant she was ready for BIG KID school! Oh my!

June: On June 26th, my Dad passed away....just 2 months after Stan. We were told he had 4-6 months, so him passing away so quickly wasn't what we were expecting. He was a wonderful Daddy. I have amazing memories from my childhood that I look back on and remember him dearly. He was a loving Popa to my girls! I think of him every single day....missing him and loving him more than I can even put into words.

Losing both fathers/grandfathers in that short amount of time was and has been very hard. Luckily, Jason and I have each other to lean on. We KNOW and UNDERSTAND what the other is feeling, so we don't have to pretend or try to "get it". We both also have a very strong relationship with God. HE has been with us every step of the way...carried us most times, knowing we could barely walk on our own. It is because of our relationship with HIM that we are able to move forward. God is GOOD!

July: The girls took swimming lessons this summer! Emercyn surprised us by actually learning to SWIM! Up to this point, she wouldn't even put her head under water! :) Harper wanted nothing to do with the class! She loves the water, but did NOT want to participate in the class. :) Maybe next year!

We did lots of fun things this summer.....fishing, going to the zoo, swimming, having playdates, bible school, etc. It was a very hard summer for us; a very emotional summer. But we still tried to enjoy it as best as we could.

August: Emercyn starts PRE-K at Maple Public Schools NEXT WEEK!!! She will go every day, all day. How can she be this big???? Emercyn is very ready. Mommy, not so much!! I have knots in my stomach just thinking about it!!! We are going to carpool each week with two of Emercyn's dear friends. So lucky to be doing this. Gas is crazy right now! I did have to give up my beloved Ford Edge for a vehicle that has a 3rd row though. Bye bye Edge! You will be missed my friend. You will be dearly missed. Sniff, sniff. I ended up getting a gray Chevy Traverse. It's a beautiful car! It's newer, bigger, has more bells and whistles, and most importantly was in our price range! So I know I'll come to love this car too!!

Harper will start Mother's Day Out at the same school Emercyn attended MDO at this age. She will go two days a week. I'm a little nervous about this! She is VERY attached to me....and has a little separation anxiety. I'm hoping going to MDO helps her with this. Emercyn loved it! Hoping Harper does too!

Emercyn started her 3rd year of dance this month. The last two years she's been taking tap and ballet, but this year she's taking jazz and hip hop. So far she loves it!!! Harper is going to be taking a mommy and me Kindermusick class. Can't wait!! She loves to dance and sing, so I know she will have a blast!!

We also found out this month that my younger sister, Jenni, is pregnant!!!!!! She's due in February 2012. Such a wonderful blessing after such a sad time in our lives. This is going to give us so much happiness to look forward to. Like I said before....God is GOOD!!!!

This coming weekend we are taking the girls on a mini-vacation....an end-of-summer last blast trip! We are staying at the Hampton Inn in Bricktown. It has an indoor water park-type of pool area. We plan to take them to Pops in Acadia to eat, as well as Pinkitzel for a cupcake snack! The girls have never stayed in a hotel, so this will be an experience for us all!! :)

Well folks, that's about it! I'm sure I left out quite a bit (I'm doing this from memory)! But I hit the most important parts, which is all that matters. ;) And honestly, did you want to hear every single thing we did this summer? I could have told you about our potty-training journey with Baby H. But I will spare you the details. You're welcome!

Jason went ice fishing (EEEEEEEK....so scary!!!) in Wyoming wit his two best buds from college a couple of weeks ago. He was gone about 4 days. They had such a great time!!! The girls and I missed him so much!! We haven't been away from him for that long before....it was a long 4 days! :) As much as we missed him, we are so thankful and blessed for the wonderful friends he has! Thanks Dan and Josh (and John!!) for being such great friends to Jason....he had a blast!!!

I get to have some fun too!!!! I'm spending this coming weekend in Bricktown with my best friend from college! We have a "girls' weekend" planned, with manicures, massages, movies, great food, and fabulous company!!! I'm really looking forward to it!!!!!

Snow...Snow....and more Snow!

After a 70 degree weather week, we had a blizzard. Yes, a BLIZZARD! We got about 10 inches of snow, a week later another 6 or so inches.....and a full week off of school! The girls absolutely loved it! Being in Oklahoma, we aren't prepared for much snow....so snow suits aren't necessary. We don't own them. So we had to improvise, layering tights, socks, several pair of pants and shirts, gloves, coats, etc. They didn't get to stay out in the snow very long because their clothes weren't water-proof....but the time they did get in the snow was well spent!

And believe it or not, this week (the week after all of this madness) has been in the 70s again!! Tomorrow is expected to be almost 80 degrees!! Crazy Oklahoma weather!! ;)

Valentine's Day!!!!

Emercyn's class had a Valentine's party at school. So much fun! I signed up to take the party favors....remind me not to do that again! That gets expensive when you are buying for 24 kids! ;) I'll stick to the snack or drinks!!!

Emercyn loved going through her Valentine's from all of her friends, and Harper had a great time watching her!!!

Jason and I got the girls a little gift for the holiday. They both love books, so we thought it was a fitting gift. Emercyn got the newest book in the "Pinkalicious" series (her favorite) called "Silverlicious". Harper got a book about love called "I love you when....".

And of course, Jason and I got to go on our annual Valentine's Day date! We hired a babysitter (thanks Alyssa!!), and went out to eat. We went to On the Border (their avacado live is fantastic). We stopped at Starbucks on our way home and grabbed some yummy coffee!! It was the perfect date!!!!

Batter Up!!!

Emercyn's old enough to play T-Ball this summer, so we decided to sign her up!! You know Jason's excited. :) And guess who her coach will be?!?!?!? You guessed it! JASON! We knew he couldn't stay away from the sport too long! It's in his blood! And let me tell you, Emercyn is SO EXCITED to have her Daddy coach! She is so proud and tells everyone she sees! I just know this is going to be a wonderful experience that they will both cherish for a long time! We asked several of Emercyn's friends from dance, school, and church to join our team. There are 12 kids, and Emercyn knows 10 of them pesonally. That is going to make for a fun season!!

Jason and I decided on the name "The Shockers". This was not an easy decision! We couldn't agree on anything! Emercyn decided "The Princesses" would be fitting. I told her that there were more boys on the team than girls so it wouldn't work. She then she came up with "The Prince Saves the Princess". I personally loved it! But Jason vetoed it quickly!! ;) He asked me to come up with 10 names and he'd choose from the list. So, that's how we came up with our final team name....and we're all happy! The team colors are aqua, silver, and black. And of course, the 4 little girls on the team will have "bling" on their shirts!

The season doesn't begin until late March/early April, but be sure to check back.....there will be pictures and play-by-play of these darling little 4 & 5 year olds!!!

Dallas.....here we come!!!

We took a mini-weekend vacation to visit my sister and her husband in Dallas (they actually live in a town just right outside of Dallas). We had a blast and can't wait to go back!!!

Jason's Aunt Sharon lives in Irving, which was on our way to my sister's, so we asked her to meet us for lunch. We met at the coolest McDonald's. It was shaped like a Happy Meal! Thanks Sharon for meeting us!!! :)

While at my sister's, we visited the Children's Museum. It was lots of fun, with many activities for both girls.

We also went to the American Girl Boutique and Bistro. This place is a MUST for every little girl!! Even this 29 year old girl went nuts!!! It's simply amazing! First, we had lunch in their bistro. They have highchairs and utensils for your dolls. After we ate, we let the girls shop!! Their Great-Grandma Thelma passed away recently, and she left them each a little money....asking them to buy themselves something fun! We decided Grandma Thelma would like it if they bought a doll! I'm sure she had a great time watching them pick out their doll from Heaven!! :) Both girls picked the "Bitty Baby" instead of the bigger dolls. I asked Emercyn why she didn't want the bigger doll, and she said "because the bigger doll would be my friend, but I can be the Mommy to the baby doll". She LOVES to pretend she's the Mommy to her babies, so this doll is perfect! Emercyn named her's Lulu and Harper's is Evie!

My sister and Trevor cooked us some amazing meals while we were there! They were perfect hosts! It was wonderful to spend that time with my sister!!! And the girls really enjoyed bonding with their Uncle T! They sure love him!! We are looking forward to our next visit!!!!

Christmas!!!

What a wonderful and blessed Christmas our family had!!! It was so much fun to see the excitement on the girls' faces when they walked into the living room on Christmas morning! It is so much fun to see Christmas through a child's eyes! :) Jason and I are truly thankful for everything God has given us this year! HE is the REASON for the season! We made sure the girls knew that, and in fact, Emercyn reminded us that it was Jesus's birhtday! :) What a wonderful Christmas we had!!!!

We celebrated Christmas with Jason's mom and dad at their house a couple of days after Christmas. We had a wonderful time!! Jason's sister and her family live overseas, so they weren't able to come home for the holidays. But we were able to Skype with her, so that was great!! They'll be home next year for Christmas, which means we'll get to spend time with our niece and our twin nephews!!!! :) Can't wait!

Cookies for Santa!

Emercyn and I made sugar cookies for Santa Claus. We had lots of fun mixing the dough, rolling it out, cutting out shapes with cookie cutters, and then the most fun of all....icing them!!! Harper is still a little too young to help, but she sure enjoyed eating them! I can't wait until next year when both of my girls can help!!! What a fun memory that will be!!

We took the girls to visit Santa Claus at Bass Pro. Emercyn loves Santa and isn't scared of him at all. She even talked to him a bit and told him what she wanted for Christmas. Harper, as you can clearly see, absolutely did NOT like him! Maybe next year!! :)

Barney Live! Yes, you heard right. Jason and I took the girls to see the big, purple, annoying dinosaur. But before you start rolling your eyes, let me tell you.....it was an awesome show! In fact, I'd go again! :) It was very interactive and kept both girls completely entertained, which is hard to do! Even little Harper (who was just 19 months) enjoyed it! We actually won free tickets from the El Reno Tribune newspaper, so we splurged a bit and bought the girls both a Barney stuffed animal. Harper has been sleeping with her's every night since!

Dance....Dance.....Dance!!!!!

Emercyn's Christmas dance recital was in December. She did a tap routine to "Suzy Snowflake", and let me tell you.....there was nothing cuter! Watching 3 & 4 year old little girls all dressed up in their costumes, dancing their little hearts out, and having the time of their lives.....priceless!!! Emercyn did SO good! She knew every dance step by heart and didn't miss a beat! So proud of my little dancing queen!!!

Halloween!!!!

Jason and I took our two little princesses, Snow White and Cinderella, trick-or-treating. What a blast we had!!!! The weather was absolutely perfect, so the girls got to ride in the wagon. This was Harper's first year to really participate, and she had so much fun! She loved carrying her little basket and then digging through all the candy! And we were very proud of Emercyn....saying "thank you" at every house. :) We got more candy than we know what to do with, but Jason and I have been helping the girls eat it!

Preschool Halloween Party!

Emercyn's preschool class had a Halloween party. Harper and I went and had a great time! Emercyn dressed up as her favorite character.....PINKALICIOUS!! She got lots of goodies and candies, and as you can see from the pictures, a silly pair of glasses. Harper LOVED wearing them! And of course, we snapped some pictures of Miss E with her friends! :) What a fun Halloween party!!!

Emercyn wanted to be Snow White for Halloween this year, and she wanted Harper to be Cinderella. I'll be honest, I cringed just a bit when I heard this. EVERY little girl is Snow White or Cinderella at some point in their Halloween costume years. And most of the costumes are very plain and blah. I wanted my girls to stand out! So I came up with an idea....I'd make their costumes! And when I told Emercyn they'd be wearing tutus, she was totally on board!! So I bought some tulle, ribbon, appliques, shirts, and voila! The DARLING Snow White and Cinderella costumes were made! Check back in a couple of weeks to see the girls wearing them while trick-or-treating!!! :)

Halloween Party with Friends!

The girls and I had a "Halloween Playdate" with some great friends of our's. There were 7 kids (ages 2 months to 4.5 years) at the playdate. They all wore Halloween shirts, colored and played, and then snacked on "ghost bananas". It was tons of fun! It was the perfect day for a Halloween party! It was very rainy and stormy, and the lights even went out for a while! We love our friends and had so much fun with them!!!!!!

Harper is already a year and a half old! 18 months! Yikes! Where has the time gone? She's a TODDLER! I took her to her 18 month checkup last week. She's super healthy! The doctor was very pleased! She's in the 90th-95th percentile for both weight and height. She's actually 2 pounds heavier and 1.5 inches longer than Emercyn was at this age....and Emercyn was a big baby! The doctor even commented, "she's the size of a normal 2 year old"! :) He also said that her speech was ahead of most 18 month olds! Yay Harper!

Emercyn has been begging her Daddy to take her camping, so we decided to set up a tent (thanks David and Greta for letting us borrow it!!!!) in the backyard! Harper's not quite old enough to camp, so she and I stayed inside. But Jason and Emercyn had a blast! They popped some popcorn and then watched some videos on his iphone. Lots of fun! So glad my girls have a Daddy that loves doing things like that with them! :)

My Little Cheerleader!!!!

The El Reno Cheerleading Squad held a cheer clinic for little girls.....and then they got to perform the following week at the football game!! :) This was the coolest thing to Emercyn! She thought she as a real cheerleader! SO CUTE!!!! And I must say, she was pretty fantastic! She memorized the words to the cheers, did the actions perfectly, and really got into the movements. This former cheerleader was very proud!!!!

Chester's Party Barn!

Emercyn's preschool class visited Chester's Party Barn for a field trip. We had lots of fun! We went to the petting zoo, rode a hay ride, went down a HUGE slide, rode a pony, and then visited the pumpkin patch. Emercyn absolultely loves this place!!!! Next year Harper will be in the Mother's Day Out program and I will get to go with her!!! Can't wait!

Emercyn's 4 year checkup went great!!!! She was such a big girl! In the past few years, she has not been the best patient. She hates the doctor and is scared to death of him. But we talked in depth about what would happen at this appointment, and it really helped. We even played doctor with her doctor kit a few times! She was the perfect patient this time around and I couldn't have been prouder!!!! :) Yay Miss E!!

Jason and I woke Emercyn up the morning of her birthday to us singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She then got to open the presents we got her....a pink Barbie car and a pink digital camera. She was SO excited!!! She had been asking for those specific gifts for quite some time, so we knew she'd be thrilled to see them!! She then got her requested birthday breakfast....blueberry muffins!

Her Gramma and Grandad weren't able to come to her birthday party, so they came up and took her to McDonald's for lunch. She had so much fun!!!! Thanks Gramma and Grandad for doing that for her!

That night we took her to Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant for supper. We celebrated her birthday as well as my birthday (our's are 2 days apart)! They put sombreros on us and sang "Feliz Navidad"! It was great fun!!!

Harper and I brought cupcakes to Emercyn's school for a birthday party with her friends! Her teacher made her a birthday hat to wear all day. She loved that! Her friends also each colored her a coloring page of a birthday cake, and her teacher made it into a book. So cute!! The kids also sang "Happy Birthday" to her! :)

Emercyn LOVES the book "Pinkalicious" by Victoria Kann. And she LOVES the color pink! So when she asked if her birthday party could be Pinkalicious themed, I was thrilled....because you all know I LOVE pink too!! :) I absolutely love planning parties, and in fact, I start the party planning process 3 months ahead of time! Yes, that means I started planning in JUNE! I'm glad I did, because finding Pinkalicious party decor was not as easy as I thought it would be! But we found it! And it turned out PERFECT! We had story time with the book (while the kids snacked on green popcorn....read the book to see why they ate green food!!!), craft time where the kids each decorated a tiara and gold wand (Pinkalicious has these in the book), AND they each got their face painted by the most amazing artist! Her work is phenomenal! Emercyn has such a great time at her party! She thanked me several times that day for giving her the "perfect party"!! :) :) :)

Emercyn turned FOUR! I can't believe it! My baby's not a baby anymore!! It's so crazy to me that four years ago I was giving birth to an 8lb 15oz and 20 inch baby girl....with lots of black hair, dark blue eyes, and beautiful golden skin! She was a GORGEOUS baby! And she has become a GORGEOUS young lady! I'm so proud of my punkin! She is everything I dreamed my little girl would be. She's smart, outgoing, funny, happy, tender-hearted, kind, generous, silly, loving....and the best big sister to Harper I could ever have dreamed! I love her so much and am so thankful God chose me to be her mother!!! Happy Birthday Miss E!! Mommy, Daddy, and Harper love you more than words can say!

El Reno Fair!

Jason and I took the girls to the El Reno Fair. It's the same weekend as the Hinton Fair, which we usually go to. But this year we decided to go to the El Reno Fair since we've been here 6 years and have never been!!! We had a great time! Emercyn rode the carousel, the little "cars", a tiny roller coaster, and I rode the ferris wheel with her. Hopefully next year Harper can ride some rides too!! We also took the girls into the animal show barn to see the pigs and sheep! And Daddy even played a game to win the girls both a stuffed animal (Emercyn got a pink/blue puppy and Harper got a purple monkey). We had a great time, and the girls fell right to sleep when we got home and put them in bed. :)

Our sweet little Harper Belle! Just wanted to show a few recent pics of our little darling!!! :) Notice the sock monkey in a couple of the pics....she is so attached! She sleeps with it for every nap and at night time. And we take it almost everywhere we go. Those of you that remember when Emercyn was a baby, she had a pink baby doll she was attached to. She carried that thing until very recently in fact! I have a feeling Harper and her monkey will be together for quite some time!

Miss E started preschool on August 18th. She missed the pre-k age requirement for this year by 2.5 weeks. So preschool it is! She goes Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Three days a week isn't bad, and Jason and I think it will prepare her mentally and physically for the all-day-every-day schedule she'll be doing next year at pre-k. The school she is at also has a Mother's Day Out program she attended last year. So she's familiar with the school and the teachers, which really helped. Her teacher, Miss Madelyn, is fabulous! And Emercyn is in class with her bff from her MDO class, so that helped make her first day a breeze! I was so proud of my big girl!

Emercyn found a picture of a bird feeder in one of my magazines that she wanted to make. It was made from an old milk carton, which we just happened to have. So we decided to make it one afternoon! It was a lot of fun, and Miss E had a blast decorating it!! Every day she looks outside at the tree we hung it on to see if any birds are eating. So far, we haven't seen any. :( Hopefully we will soon!!!

Jason and I had the most amazing time on our vacation!! We ate some fabulous food, got some much needed relaxation, cooled off with their 80 degree temps, and expolored our adventurous side with parasailing and ziplining! Jason did some golfing and fishing while I visited the spa, which were just the icing on the cake! And a HUGE thanks to my mom for staying with the girls. They had a wonderful time and we were able to enjoy our time knowing they were in safe hands! :)

Whoo Hoo!!! Jason and I will finally take a vacation.....alone! This will be our very first "vacation" since Emercyn was born almost 4 years ago! We've taken overnight trips here and there, but nothing longer than that. Jason hit a goal at work and won a trip for the two of us! We will be gone 4 days/3 nights. We leave next week!!! We are going to a resort called The Abbey on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. Check out their website! www.theabbeyresort.com

They have so many fun things to do.....parasailing, a 600ft zip line, kayaking, and a spa just to name a few!

The girls will be staying with Nana and Popa (my mom and dad), and I just know they will have a great time! Emercyn's already planning out her weekend! :)

Dancing Queens.......

My girls LOVE to dance. Actually, that is an understatement! If there is music playing, they are dancing. And sometimes, they dance without music.....or they make their own! Emercyn loves to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" or "Dancing with the Stars" with me simply because she can dance along with the contestants! Harper has two specific dance moves that you can be sure she will do when there is music. First she pulls her right arm up and down in a motion you would do if you were saying "choo choo" and imitating a train. Who knows why she uses this in her dance moves, but it's pretty darn cute!! And then she throws in her hips....swinging them back and forth, back and forth. I have every intention of videoing them dance, but everytime they do it I find myself too involved in watching and forget to grab my camera! Some day I will and I WILL post for you to see! :)

15 Months Already?!?!?!?!?

Baby H is 15 months old!!! This actually makes me a little sad! Where did my tiny baby go? This past year with Harper has gone SO much faster than the first year with Emercyn. I feel like things happen faster the second time around!!

Harper had her 15 month well-baby check last week. Drumroll please......26lbs 9oz and 31 inches long! Big girl! :)

I like to compare her stats with Emercyn's at that age just to see how similar in size they are. Emercyn was 26lbs even and 31 inches at 15 months. So they are very close in size! :)

I mentioned a couple of months ago in a post that I was teaching Harper some baby signs like I did with Miss E. Harper has them down and uses them every chance she gets! It is definitely a life saver! She can tell us what she wants without frustration, and we completely understand. She has "milk", "eat", "more", "night night", and "bath" down perfectly! Go Baby H!!! We are working on a few others at the moment, so I'm sure in a couple of months she'll have those down as well!

Baby H also knows a few animal sounds. She can tell you how a cow, kitty cat, and puppy goes as well as point to her nose and your nose. :)

Swim Classes!!

Miss E took her very first swim classes this summer. She absolutely LOVES the water, but has a fear of actually going under the water. She would stay in the pool all day long if we let her.....but she probably would do so without getting her face wet!

She did great at swim class! They worked with her on her fear, and she did so good! I was such a proud mama! She's not "swimming like a fish" as she thought she would be at the end of the class, but this is a great start. She had two teachers. She would jump in to one of them from the side of the pool, but absolutely would not to the other. So it varied day to day how well she did, depending on which teacher worked with her more. She even went down the HUGE slide, sitting on the lap of one of the lifeguards! :) Her good friend Bailey was in the class with her, which really helped. They were just darling together....running to sit by each other, always wanting to be in the same group, etc.

The class was every night for 2 weeks. Harper stayed home with Daddy during the classes. They both enjoyed their time together! We had planned to do a "Parent and Baby" class this year with Harper, but decided to wait until next year. She's definitely a water baby (standing at the bathroom door doing the sign for "bath" is a regular occurrence for us), so I have a feeling she will love the class!!

At 14.5 months (on July 7th) our sweet Harper Belle decided to take her first steps! Yay big girl!!! We are so excited for you!!!!

Emercyn was more excited than Jason and I were! She screamed and cheered and hugged on her baby sister. She couldn't wait for Harper to take this big "step" (no pun intended)!

We celebrated 4th of July at Jason's Grandma's house in Granite. They host an annual 4th of July get-together. Lots of food, fun, laughter, and fireworks are sure to be in store at the Looper's! We had a blast!!! Emercyn followed her older cousins around most of the time (thanks to Kaylen, Kendall, Kirsten, Melanie, Hunter, and Carson for letting her tag along) and had the best time!!! And Harper enjoyed playing outside in the big yard! This girl loves being outside!!! Maybe next year she can try to keep up with big sister!

Jason and his dad (Grandad) took Emercyn fishing at the creek. Jason bought Emercyn a pink Barbie fishing pole, and she thought she was in Heaven! She absolutely loved it!!! This girl loves to fish!!! Jason's cousins Ryan and Carson joined them on their fishing trip!!

I also brought home some sand plum juice (thanks Nikki, Staci, and Sandra!!!) to make some homemade jelly!!! Mmmmmm!

And of course, we took the annual 4th of July hat picture!!!! :) It just wouldn't be 4th of July without the hats!!

Jason's sister Marci, who lives in Central Asia, had twin baby boys a little over 3 weeks ago in Thailand (June 25th). Josiah David and Hudson Jay were several weeks early, but they were born needing very little help from oxygen! Yay!!!! They were both around 5 pounds, which is pretty impressive for how early they were. They got to "go home" this past weekend and are doing great! Marci and Brad also have a little girl named Lydia. She and Harper are just a month apart in age. She is 16 months old. We've been told that she's taken to her baby brothers very well and seems to enjoy them. :)

We are so excited to have nephews and can't wait to meet them in person!!!!!

Our little Harper Belle is definitely a love bug! She hugs and cuddles on everything....EVERYTHING! I love it because she gives me the biggest hugs at random times, and a lot of times it's exactly what I needed at that moment! :) She loves all over Emercyn, which is absolutely adorable to see. But what's funny is that she literally will love on anything....water bottles, diapers, paper, her sippy cup, etc. She hugs and pats, then rocks, and sometimes kisses these things. And most of the time, she says "awww". :) SO CUTE if I do say so myself!

This weekend is our ONLY weekend this summer (I looked on the calendar) until August that we didn't have a single thing planned. So we took advantage of it! We cooked hotdogs on the grill for lunch, and ate outside on the back patio. The girls loved that! Then we let them play outside until naptime. Jason and I even took naps! :) It was a very relaxing and very enjoyable day!!

So this weekend, at church, Emercyn got her first busted lip. Her bottom lip is busted, and her nose and the skin below her nose/above her top lip is skinned as well. We're still not sure what happened. She has told us 1)a little boy pushed her down, made her fall, and hit her face on the floor, and 2)she tripped and hit her face on the floor. Who knows!?!?!? But whatever happened, it sure made Mommy and Daddy sad! It took all I had to hold back the tears when I saw her! :( But she is such a big girl. When I asked her what happened she said, "I was such a big girl and didn't even cry!" Love her!

Just like the title says.....FINALLY! It's been WAY too long since I last updated. I just added several new posts and pics. Please check them out and look at the new pics of our sweet girls! Thanks to Jason's sister MARCI for giving me the desire to get this updated. I've been meaning to do so for a few months now, but just haven't had the time or motivation. You were just the motivation I need. So THANKS!!! :)

My goal is to keep up this motivation and updated weekly. I know, I know. I said that last time too! But this time I mean it! Really! The girls have such a busy and fun summer planned, so I will updated as often as possible. I also plan to update with a few of the things Jason and I have planned, which include a 4 day vacation we are taking the end of July!!

Harper Belle turns ONE!

We celebrated Harper's 1st birthday in April with a cupcake theme! The party was in the fellowship hall of our church and it was a hit! Harper was all decked out in an adorable cupcake party outfit. And did I mention Emercyn and I dressed the part too??? We had a custom cupcake shaped birthday cake to serve , and I made her smash cake. It was also a cupcake shaped cake....strawberry, of course! The kids had a blast with the cupcake shaped pinata, and they each took home a bag of candy! We also sent each child home with cupcake shaped cookies we had custom made by one of Emercyn's teachers at school.

Baby H got some great gifts too! Lots of fun toys and adorable clothes! Thanks so much to all of our friends and family for helping us celebrate this wonderful day!!!!!

Harper Belle!

I feel like I need to brag on my sweet baby for just a moment! A lot of the posts are about Emercyn, but please know Baby H has been up to lots of wonderful things herself! Emercyn is at the age where she can actually participate in activities, so I have lots of things to say and lots of pictures.....but our sweet Baby H has been very busy too! :)

She is SUCH a good baby. She made going from one child to two so incredibly easy for us. She is so laid back, so content, and so happy. She's a fantastic eater and sleeper, and just really seems to go-with-the-flow on most everything. Jason and I are constantly finding ourselves amazed at how well she adapts to new things. LOVE her!!! And she and Emercyn just adore each other. It's so sweet and so precious to watch. Emercyn just hugs and kisses on her, and Harper follows her everywhere. She's always wanting to do whatever her Big Sister is doing. Cute, cute!

She's not walking yet, but she's EVERYWHERE. She crawls at super fast speeds, and cruises and "walks" around anything and everything she can. She also has learned a few new words recently. She has been saying "mama" and "dada" for a few months now, but over the last couple of weeks she has started saying more. She now says "all done", "uh oh", "ball", and "up". And just this morning she said the word "book" when she saw some books in my hand! Emercyn's been working with her on saying "sissy", but so far she hasn't picked that one up yet! I love this stage!

She also does a few baby signs. We taught these to Emercyn when she was this age, and it really helped with our communication. In fact, Emercyn still remembers these signs. She does them with Harper too! :) Harper knows "more", "milk", and "all done".

Harper loves to play games....pat-a-cake and peek-a-boo are her favs! Just say "where's Harper?" and she covers her eyes, all ready to play!

She's a very curious baby.....much more so than Emercyn was at this age. We learned that fast! We have a rather large coffee table, and underneath we kept all of our magazines. Not once did I have to move those magazines when E was a baby. Same goes with all of the photo albums and picture frames we had sitting on a bookshelf. Emercyn never touched them. We have had to completely clear out the bookshelf and coffee table this time around. Harper is just so curious! It drives us crazy, but at the same time we love it! It's wonderful to see her explore everything! :)

Water Babies!

Recently, Jason's parents stayed at a hotel nearby.....so we visited them and took advantage of their indoor pool!!! The girls had a blast! I think Gramma and Grandad did too! :)

The girls LOVE to play in the water.....any kind of water. Sometimes, Harper even cries when it's time to get out of the bathtub! We bought them a little baby pool (with a tiny slide attached), and they are having a blast playing in it. Also, I signed them both up for swim classes in July. Emercyn took a class when she was Harper's age. She loved it! I just know Harper will too. Emercyn's class this year is actual swimming lessons. I hope she does well!

Bible School

Emercyn attended her very first Vacation Bible School this year. The theme is "The High Seas Expedition", and one day was "dress like a pirate" day. Oh boy! We had fun with that! I had to get my creative ideas in gear (thanks to a friend's suggestion!!!)....but we pulled it off! I even drew a mustache on Miss E's face! She LOVED that!

Emercyn truly enjoyed her first experience with VBS!!!! Jason and I both have fond memories of our time at VBS, so we are excited that our girls are going to be making these wonderful memories too!!

School Days

In May, Emercyn finished her first year of "school" at Mother's Day Out. She had such a great time and truly enjoyed herself. She learned SO much!!!! The teachers there were amazing! They have a preschool program for 4 year olds at this school, so we enrolled her for this coming fall. She misses the pre-k cutoff by 3 weeks, so we decided preschool will be good for her. She's so eager to learn, and this will prepare her for pre-k. She will be going 3 days a week, Monday-Wednesday-Friday.

Emercyn became great friends with a little girl named Camden. If you ask her who her best friend is, she will say "Camden"! :) Her mom and I have asked that Emercyn and Camden be in the same preschool class next year. Also, they will both be attending Maple Elementary (a school right outside of El Reno). So hopefully their friendship will continue to flourish over the years! She's the little, curly, blonde haired girl in the picture above with Emercyn.

Mother's Day

This was second Mother's Day with TWO babies!

I had a wonderful day. It was perfect! After church, we went out to eat. Then we came home and took a nap! :) It's great when Mommy gets a nap too! For supper, Jason cooked out on the grill. I got to spend the entire day with the two precious people that made me a Mommy! I love you Miss E and Baby H!!!!

Easter

What a wonderful Easter we had! On Saturday we visited the Easter Bunny at Bass Pro Shop. The girls loved it! On Easter Sunday, after church, we went to my mom and dad's house to have lunch. Mattie and Emercyn hunted Easter eggs, while Mya and Harper played in the grass. I LOVE holidays and LOVE to dress the girls in holiday clothes. I couldn't find any cute Easter shirts, so I made them some.....cute tees with Easter eggs!

And of course, I got the girls matching Easter dresses! :)

Valentine's Day!

We hosted a Valentine's Party at our house with some of the girl's friends. We had cake and juice, did a craft, and exchanged Valentine goodie bags! It was tons of fun!!!

Christmas 2009

What a wonderful Christmas we had!!! This was the first year Emercyn really understood what Santa was all about. She was so excited to decorate cookies for him, and on Christmas morning she couldn't wait to see what he brought! Jason and I had so much fun talking about Santa Clause with Emercyn. What a fun time! And since she "got" that concept, we used this wonderful opportunity to talk to her about the real reason for the season.....Jesus's birth! She even said "Happy Birthday Jesus" a few times! :)

This was also Harper's very first Christmas. What a special time!! She was 8 months old, so she was at the age where tearing into the paper and boxes was more fun to her. Jason and I loved watching her!

And of course, I put them in matching pajamas! I let them open their new jammies on Christmas Eve. This will most definitely be something we continue throughout the years.

Because of the massive amounts of snow we had this year for Christmas, traveling became a problem. My parents were stuck in Houston. So we celebrated Christmas with my family on New Year's Day. It was wonderful having all of the "babies" together........all 4 of them!

And we celebrated with Jason's parents on Christmas Day. They were brave and drove in the snow to our house! We had a great time! We really missed not being able to spend the holiday with Jason's sister, her husband Brad, and our cutie patootie niece Lydia. Hopefully that day will come!!

Twinke Toes!!!

In both the Fall and Spring, Emercyn took dance! She loved it! She was in both ballet and tap. Oh my goodness! She is adorable! And she absolutely loves it! And I'm a bit biased here, but I do think she's rather good at it. She's a natural! :) And she has made so many great friends over this past year being in dance. We recently enrolled for this coming Fall semester, and we were sure to enroll in the same sessions as her friends! She's such good friends with some of these girls, we have started having playdates with them. We also all enrolled in a swim class together for this summer. So these dance classes have been a very positive thing for Emercyn all around!

In December, the dance studio had a Christmas recital. Emercyn's class danced to "Frosty the Snowman" (white costume) and "Away in a Manger" (purple). The VIDEO is from the Christmas recital! :)

In May 2010, they had a Spring recital called "Spring Fling". Her class danced to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (blue costume) and "Do You Love Me?" (white/pink/black polka dots)

Halloween 2009!!!

What a fun Halloween we had!!! The girls went as ghosts (which if I do say so myself, were the cutest costumes ever)!! We went trick-or-treating and then went to our church's Fall Festival. The weather was perfect, and the girls had a lot of fun! Emercyn LOVED going door to door asking for candy! And she had a blast playing all of the fun games at the church festival!

On Friday, the day before Halloween, Emercyn's school (Mother's Day Out) had a Halloween party! Since Emercyn's costume was mainly white, I decided not to risk it!!!! So we dressed her up in some of her dance clothes and she went as a ballerina! :)

Updates!!!

So it's been awhile since I last updated the blog! My last entry was the first part of July!! We've been very busy and a lot has happened in those few months!

Emercyn turned 3 years old in September, and Harper turned 6 months old on October 15th! Wow! Time has just flown by!!! We are staying very busy! Emercyn is in Mother's Day Out on Mondays and Wednesday, as well as dance class on Wednesday nights. Harper and I go to MOPS twice a month on Wednesdays while E is in school. Emercyn is loving all of the activities she has going on, and it's really nice for Harper and me to be able to spend some alone time together. We still do lots of playdates, as well as the activities we do with the stay-at-home-mom's group I've been a part of for almost 3 years. So our calendar stays full most of the time! And Jason's Farmers Insurance business is doing very well....it keeps him busy!!

Can't wait to see what this fall/winter has in store for the Looper family!!! :)

We celebrated Emercyn's 3rd birthday at Build-a-Bear! All of her greatest friends came! She had a wonderful time! She and all of her friends got to make their own bears. It was lots of fun! Emercyn made a blue bear she named Berry!!

She had been asking for a pair of roller skates for several months! So for her birthday her Nana got her a pair! The moment we got home from the party, she begged us to wear them! :)

Friends!!!!

Emercyn loves her friends!!!!! She talks about them quite often and gets SO excited when we have playdates with them! She's such a social butterfly!

One of Emercyn's bffs (Hadley) has a baby brother that is just 2 weeks younger than Harper. We just know Jack and Harper will become the best of friends!! :)

Emercyn has become great friends with a little boy from our church named Grady. They are just a few months apart in age, and he has a younger brother named Gage who is just a few months older than Harper. His parents have become great friends of Jason and me! :) We are blessed to have this wonderful family in our lives!

Critter Tales!

A local playplace had "Critter Tales" (storytime with live animals), so I took the girls. Emercyn enjoyed petting all of them! They had a skunk, a turtle, an owl, a chinchilla, and many more! She was not scared at all to touch any of the animals.....she definitely does not take after her Mommy on this one! We met some good friends there too, so it made for a fun playdate!

The Hinton Fair!

We took the girls to the Hinton Fair in August. Harper was still too young to ride any rides, so she sat in her stroller most of the night and took in all of the sights and sounds! Maybe next year she'll be able to enjoy the fun!! But Miss E had a blast riding all she could!!!! :)

Daddy won this HUGE Blue's Clues.....which is almost as big as Emercyn is!

In August, Emercyn started dance class!! She takes tap and ballet. She loves it!! They do a recital in December, and she is so excited! In September they did a small performance in downtown El Reno for an Arts Festival......and she was such a performer!!! She stole the show!! :) Can't wait until her Christmas performance!!!

Mother's Day Out!

Emercyn started "school" this year. She goes to a Mother's Day Out program 2 days a week. She loves it! And we are so proud of her....she has learned so much! What a smart little girl we have! :) She comes home each day with something new she learned.....the 12 months of the year, the 7 days of the week, etc. She has made several new friends and talks about them quite often! She is gone from 9am-2pm two days a week, so during that time Harper and I have some great "Mommy and Me" time!

Jason and I have enjoyed watching the girls together! Emercyn loves to make Harper laugh, and Harper just adores Emercyn. They are so sweet! And we are SO proud of what a great big sis Emercyn is. She truely loves her baby sister! We just know they will be the best of friends!!

Miss Harper Belle rolled over (front to back) for the first time today!! She is 12 weeks old, which is the exact same week Emercyn rolled over! Yay for my big girl!! She's growing too fast! Before we know it she'll be crawling all over the place!

We had a great 4th of July!!! Every year we go out to Jason's grandma's house in Granite. His extended family all gathers together for a great time! It rained off and on all day, so that put a slight damper on our outside activities (playing on the slip 'n slide, flying kites, fishing, etc). But we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! And of course, we took our annual "4th of July crazy hat" picture!! Jason and I look forward to this each year! It's so fun to see what crazy hats his cousins will come up with each year....and we love taking the picture and comparing it to the year before! Also, this was the first year Emercyn got to watch the fireworks! She's usually in bed a few hours before they are begun, but this year we let her stay up and watch. She LOVED them! She can't stop talking about them!!

We had to do the sparklers on Sunday afternoon, because it wouldn't stop raining on Saturday long enough for us to do them!

Jason took Emercyn to Sentinel/Granite last weekend to go fishing. Gramma and Grandad went too! Emercyn had a GREAT time!!! She absolutely loved it....and keeps asking when she can go again. It was too hot to take Harper, so we spent the day shopping with Nana!

Jason and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on June 7th. My mom (aka Nana) came up to keep the girls while we went out to eat and to the movies. The girls were great for my Mom! And Jason and I really enjoyed spending some alone time with each other!
